Christina Hall is causing a stir in her Instagram comments and giving insights into the status of her relationship with her ex-husband, Ant Anstead.
The HGTV star responded to a fan’s bold suggestion on a July 20 post, which read, “How awesome would it be to have Ant replace Josh on the Flip Off? Ratings would go through the roof. If it happens, I need some credit. Lol.”
Christina responded, “LOL that would be a genius ‘ratings’ idea just sayin.”
The comment follows Christina’s re-following of her second husband, Anstead, on Instagram and liking a photo of their son, Hudson, 4, on his feed. Anstead does not currently follow Christina back on the social media platform.
Christina’s newly estranged husband Josh Hall, filed for divorce on July 15. He was set to appear alongside the home designer on the upcoming competition series, “The Flip Off,” which would have featured them facing off against Christina’s first ex-husband and former “Flip or Flop” co-star, Tarek El Moussa and Tarek’s new wife, Heather.
Sources have confirmed that Christina has resumed filming with Tarek and Heather — without Josh. HGTV has not yet confirmed the status of Josh’s involvement, but his apparent exit has left Christina in need of a new teammate.
Christina and Anstead met at the end of 2017 and went public with their relationship in January 2018 before tying the knot in a surprise backyard wedding in December 2018.
The former couple welcomed their son Hudson in September 2019, but split just a year later in September. Their divorce was finalized the following June.
Anstead began dating Renee Zellweger shortly after their split, while Christina’s relationship with Josh began around the same time that summer.
Following their split, Christina and Anstead were involved in a child custody battle in 2022, which included disputes over sharing photos of Hudson on social media. It is unclear when they unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Court documents obtained by People at the time revealed that they agreed to joint legal and physical custody of Hudson.
Christina and Josh’s recent split has shocked fans. According to the documents, Josh is requesting spousal support, which Christina disputes and is not requesting back. It is Christina’s third divorce.
A source told Us Weekly on July 29 that Christina is determined to not let Josh portray himself as a victim.
“He’s painting a picture that he is a victim, like he hasn’t done anything wrong — and she’s not going to allow that to happen,” the source said.
“The Flip Off” is scheduled to debut in 2025. It will be Christina and Tarek’s first on-screen reunion after their original series “Flip or Flop” ended in March 2022.
