“Tell Me Lies” newcomer Tom Ellis revealed he felt like “the odd one out” during his rookie season on Hulu’s psychological drama in an exclusive interview with The Post.

The actor — known for playing Lucifer Morningstar in the urban fantasy series “Lucifer” — joined the cast for Season 2 of the erotic college drama as Oliver, a mysterious married professor who gets a little too close to Bree (Catherine Missal).

In real life, Ellis, 45, is married to the “Tell Me Lies” creator, Meaghan Oppenheimer. Despite his close connection to the hit series, he shared that he felt “isolated” as one of the cast’s newest eye candies — but he doesn’t believe that’s necessarily bad.

Admitting that he “got to know the cast during Season 1” and “spent a lot of time in Atlanta” when they were shooting because of his wife, he said the feeling of being isolated made sense for his character.

“I think the nature of this storyline meant I just got to spend pretty much all my time with Cat. And so that’s — and I think the sort of knock-on effect of that was I felt quite isolated from the rest of the cast, but not in a bad way, obviously,” Ellis explained.

“You know, we’d see them and stuff, but I felt, I felt like the odd one out. But I think that was quite important actually for the story,” he continued.

Saying it was a “great cast to join,” the actor shared, “I very, very much felt like all my, all of my stuff and work was concentrated with Cat. That kind of played into what we were doing in many ways, it felt like we were having this, this secrets thing away from everybody else that they didn’t know about.”

“Tell Me Lies” Season 2 introduces Ellis and another newcomer, Thomas Doherty, as Leo. While Season 1 focused on Lucy Albright (played by Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White), the newest season follows what happens after the pair end their poisonous relationship in two timelines: 2008 and seven years later when Evan and Bree are set to marry.

It’s full of twists and turns that no one — not even the cast — saw coming. In fact, when Missal read the script for Season 2, she told The Post exclusively, her jaw fell to the floor.

But Lucy and Stephen — played by actors who actually date each other in real life — aren’t the only “toxic” duo to look out for.

After Stephen’s unexpected betrayal, Lucy seeks comfort in his frat brother, Leo. As the lines between Professor Oliver and Bree’s relationship blur, Stephen will be torn between reconciling with Diana and managing his intense bond with Lucy.

If you thought Season 1 delivered, wait until you see this one.

The relationships, drama and sex scenes are at a level 10 — and when it comes to the intimate moments between characters, Ellis and Missal teased the moments as “toxic,” “sensual” and absolutely “perfect.”

The first two episodes of “Tell Me Lies” Season 2 are already available to stream on Hulu. The remaining episodes will be released on Hulu weekly until October 16.
