CHICAGO — It is one thing to watch a player in person, at most, three games a year from the opposing dugout and a few more times from afar on highlight reels.
It is another to have them in your lineup on a daily basis and witness first-hand the impact they can make on a game.
That is what the Yankees are currently finding out about Jazz Chisholm Jr.
For a team that was in need of speed and athleticism — largely devoid of it before the trade deadline, aside from Anthony Volpe — the Yankees’ acquisition of Chisholm had delivered a jolt and bolt of energy.
