It’s the sweetest itch.
“Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” star Samantha “Sammi Sweetheart” Giancola wants a baby — and she described her deeply personal IVF journey to The Post in an exclusive interview.
The 37-year-old got engaged in March and has spent the last year undergoing in-vitro fertilization treatments, which will be a focus of Part 2 of Season 7 of the MTV series, which premieres on Sept. 19.
“I’m really a private person, so this is kind of new for me. I feel weird, I guess, showing the world this aspect of my life. But it’s real and it’s what I’m going through,” she said.
The Hazlet, NJ native said she didn’t allow cameras to film her doctor appointments, but viewers will see her giving herself hormone injections — and revealing to her castmates she’s trying to get pregnant.
“I wanted to keep it a secret because at first I was like, ‘Listen, I don’t know if the outcome is what I want it to be . . . I will be devastated if it doesn’t work,’” she said.
“You’re gonna see how everything plays out, but I really kept it private for a really long time.”
She said her ex-boyfriend, fellow cast member Ronnie Ortiz-Magro “was not around” when she was going through the treatments.
“But it’s not weird because he is a coworker and we’re not associated with one another. He is just somebody that I work with,” she said.
“That part of my life is completely over and long gone for a very long time now . . . And what I do in my life does not pertain to him.”
Giancola froze her eggs when she was 35 and had just started dating her now-fiancé, Justin May, who was a bartender at the cast’s former hangout, the now-shuttered club Karma in Seaside Heights, NJ.
“I was just like, ‘You know what? I’m getting older. I don’t know what’s going on in my life . . . I want to have kids one day,’” she recalled.
Before they started their fertility journey, the couple, who live in Pine Beach, NJ, was trying to conceive naturally.
“I’ve been with my fiancé now three years, so it’s been a long time,” she said.
She credits her groom-to-be with being her “backbone.”
“He is just very positive and uplifting,” she gushed. “If I’m feeling down or if I’m going through it, he is right there to pick me up and just bring me back to a good place where I’m focused and I’m like, ‘Okay, the end goal is positive. We’re just gonna think positive.’”
The reality star hopes her televised journey can help others.
“Maybe somebody can watch me and maybe understand or maybe they went through it or maybe they could just relate to me in some sort of way,” she said.
The brunette beauty, who was part of the original cast of “Jersey Shore,” did not return to the spinoff show, which debuted in 2018, until its sixth season, which aired in 2023.
This December, “Jersey Shore” will celebrate its 15th anniversary.
“I can’t believe it’s been 15 years. But what an amazing time with these people in my life” she said. “I adore them.”
