We have a Mel Gibson sighting.
The “Braveheart” star, 68, made a rare red carpet appearance at the premiere of his new movie, “Monster Summer,” at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Gibson was joined by his daughter Lucia, 14, and son Lars, 7, the youngest of his nine children.
He wore a navy blue blazer, a white button-up shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers to the premiere.
Lucia, whom Gibson shares with his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, wore a pretty red mini dress and gold heels that matched her clutch bag.
Lars, the child of Gibson and his girlfriend Rosalind Ross, had on a white buttoned shirt and black pants.
Gibson stars in “Monster Summer” alongside Mason Thames, Lorraine Bracco, Nora Zehetner, Kevin James, and Reese Witherspoon’s niece, Abby James Witherspoon.
“Wizards of Waverly Place” alum David Henrie directed the adventure horror film, which comes out in theaters on Oct. 4.
Gibson’s seven other children didn’t go to the premiere with their famous dad and two siblings.
The “Mad Max” actor, with his ex-wife Robyn Moore, has one daughter, Hannah, 43, and six sons, Christian, 42, Edward, 42, William, 38, Louie, 35, Milo, 33, and Thomas, 25.
Gibson made rare comments about fatherhood ten years ago, when Lucia was 4 years old and before Lars was born.
“She’s so cool. It’s amazing,” he told Extra about Lucia in 2014. “It’s full of wonder… and I’m not a youngster any more. It’s my second daughter. I’m getting a chance to do it better.”
When asked what the key is to being a good parent, then then-father-of-eight said, “Listen to them. I mean they actually tell me what to do.”
Gibson is a controversial figure in Hollywood, hence why he doesn’t do red carpets often.
In 2006, Gibson was pulled over in Malibu, Calif., on suspicion of driving under the influence and unleashed a barrage of antisemitic remarks to the police officer.
“F–king Jews. The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world. Are you a Jew?” he said to LA County Sheriff Deputy James Mee, according to a report of the arrest.
The “Passion of the Christ” director later apologized for his comments.
“There is no excuse, nor should there be any tolerance, for anyone who thinks or expresses any kind of antisemitic remark,” Gibson said.
“I want to apologize specifically to everyone in the Jewish community for the vitriolic and harmful words that I said to a law enforcement officer the night I was arrested on a DUI charge,” he added.
In recent years, Gibson has starred in various movies including “Father Stu,” “Bandit,” “Confidential Informant” and “Boneyard.”
HIs next directorial feature, the action thriller “Flight Risk” starring Mark Wahlberg, comes out in early 2025.
