Josh Rosen has once again found a new team.

The Browns are signing the 25-year-old to a one-year contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Cleveland will be Rosen’s sixth team since being drafted 10th overall in 2018.

The news comes after it was reported earlier on Thursday that the Browns were working out Rosen and A.J. McCarron, with Deshaun Watson’s status still uncertain and the team having traded Baker Mayfield earlier this month.

Rosen, who was drafted out of UCLA by the Cardinals, has also played for the Dolphins (2019), Buccaneers (2020), 49ers (2020) and Falcons (2021). According to Schefter, those around him believe he is ready to prove he belongs in the NFL, however.

It has been a bumpy ride to put it mildly.

After Rosen was drafted by the Cardinals, he infamously said, “Nine mistakes were made ahead of me. And I will make sure over the next decade or so that they will know that they made a mistake.”

Ironically, Mayfield was one of the nine players that was picked ahead of Rosen, going first overall to the Browns.

Rosen struggled his rookie year, though, throwing for 2,278 yards and 11 touchdowns with 14 interceptions and the Cardinals went 3-13 (including 3-10 with Rosen as a starter). The following year, Arizona drafted Murray first overall and shipped Rosen to Miami for draft picks.

From there, Rosen bounced around the league.

For his career, Rosen has thrown for 2,684 yards with 12 touchdowns and 21 interceptions while completing just 54 percent of his passes. He will now compete with Jacoby Brissett while the Browns await word on what, if any, discipline Watson will face for the more than two dozen civil lawsuits that were brought against him alleging sexual misconduct before he settled 20 of the 24 suits.
