A devastated woman says her life is “absolutely wrecked” and she feels like “the ultimate cliché” after she discovered her husband has a secret second family.
She has been married to her husband, who is the father of her three children, for 25 years and believed they had a wonderful life together.
Her husband works as an insurance broker with branches all over the country, so worked week on/week off between two locations.
But when the mom-of-three went to set up a new Facebook account, she typed in her husband’s first name and discovered his second profile with a different last name.
“He’s got a fiancé, whom he has two kids with, both in their early teens,” she explains in a Reddit post.
“My husband is currently with said family, and I know it’s him because his most recent post is a photo of him and that other family eating dinner. I am absolutely broken.”

The devastated mum said she has never cried so much in her life and called it “a movie plot”.
“Almost every part of me wants to scream in his face, and reprimand him for ruining my life,” she said.
“But another part of me wants to pretend to be ignorant and let it be. Because our life is peaceful, he’s good with our kids, he’s the main source of financial income, he’s loving, but he’s also all those things to another family.
“Not only would I be tearing a gaping hole into my family, I’d be opening up a vortex for them too.”
While she admitted she was tempted to pack her bags and leave, it wasn’t that simple and one of their kids – who was away at the time she uncovered the truth – still lives at home, too.

After sharing her story online, people urged her to gather as much evidence as possible and in a much-anticipated update, the mum-of-three revealed she confronted her husband the moment he walked through the door.
“He started to cry, and plead, and it was honestly kind of pathetic. I mean, I was crying too, but I’ve chosen to think of him as a pathetic coward for doing this,” she said.
“I’ve also been in contact with the other woman. I’ve told her, explained the situation, and she was equally as distraught. From what I’m aware she’s financially independent from him and they don’t share property, so it seems very clean cut on her behalf.
She said her husband is now staying in a hotel nearby “for her sake” and she’s been in discussions with an attorney about how to proceed.
“I’m way more furious than sad currently. My kids still have no idea, and my youngest thinks my husband is just working more because of a business problem,” she said.
“I’m still confused at how to tell them they have two half siblings.”
