The Rams are apparently being cheap with Odell Beckham Jr.
On Wednesday, the free-agent wide receiver took to Twitter to share that the Rams offered him “the lowest of the low offers,” making it “tough” for him to return to the team that he thought he had found a home in.
“But YES LA treated me normal and special all in the same breath, we see how that played out!” Beckham tweeted. “For both sides. I went out to win a [championship] there knowin the risk of playin without an ACL… and then I got the lowest of low offers after that goin into the next season. Impossible.”
Beckham, 29, was responding to a Twitter thread that reported he was spotted at the airport in Buffalo. The Bills have made it known they would welcome the Pro Bowl wideout.
In a separate tweet on the same thread, Beckham wrote, “LA knows where I wanted to be . . . but they didn’t offer me… . ANYthing! So idk what people want me to do.
“I def kno my worth and what the offer was isn’t reflective of that. So it’s tough to say that I can come on back even tho I thought I finally found that home!”
Beckham is reportedly targeting a mid-November return as he continues to rehab a torn ACL that he suffered in the Rams’ Super Bowl win over the Bengals in February.
Earlier this week, ESPN reported that the Rams had maintained “a good relationship” with Beckham.
Last month, The Athletic reported that the Rams “kept a full locker, plus nameplate, open for Beckham in their locker room at Thousand Oaks.”
Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey even responded to the report and said the Rams aren’t removing Beckham’s locker.
In May, coach Sean McVay said that he “really wants Odell back on [their] team,” and called on the wide receiver to take note of his message.
Last week, Beckham appeared to approve a list of potential teams that he’d be interested in playing for in a Twitter exchange with ESPN analyst Marcus Spears.
Spears, a former defensive end for the Cowboys, suggested the Chiefs, Packers, Rams, Bills and Ravens, to which Beckham replied, “we see eye to eye.”
Beckham also had Giants fans buzzing last week when he paid a visit to see his injured friend Sterling Shepard at the team’s facilities. However, it doesn’t appear that a Big Blue reunion is imminent.
Earlier this month, rumors were swirling over a Beckham-Aaron Rodgers union after the wide receiver praised the quarterback in a tweet. And the wideout caused a stir on social media when cameras caught him in conversation with Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady on the sidelines of a game against the Saints in Week 2.
Beckham had an outstanding 2021 season after a messy split with the Browns in November. He recorded 27 catches for 305 yards and five touchdowns in eight games with Los Angeles, adding 21 catches for 288 yards and two touchdowns in four postseason games.
Beckham had two catches for 52 yards and a touchdown in the Super Bowl before going down with the knee injury.
