A Los Angeles Kings fan got more than he bargained for at the team’s season opener Tuesday night.
Jeremy Aaronson posted pictures of himself on his Twitter account “LASportsNut” showing him in the hospital covering a bloody nose and showing a cut on his forehead. The season-ticket holder said he took a puck to his forehead and nose during the Kings’ warmup. Aaronson told TMZ his nose was broken after a Kings player’s shot sailed over the glass as he and his 11-year-old son were watching.
“At least I heard the goal before heading to the hospital,” Aaronson wrote. Gabriel Vilardi opened the scoring for the Kings at 10:36 of the first period, but they ultimately lost to the Vegas Golden Knights, 4-3.
After the loss, Aaronson responded to a tweet by the Kings about the loss, reposting a picture of him holding his bloody nose with a bandage on his forehead.
“I knew it was gonna be bad game when I took this puck to head in warm ups and no one from the Kings Org came to check on me,” Aaronson wrote on Twitter.
A Kings spokesman told The Post on Thursday that the team reached out to Aaronson on Wednesday “and were able to connect with him.”
Aaronson told TMZ he was watching the game on his phone while riding in an ambulance to the hospital. His son was able to stay at Crypto.com Arena and watch the game with friends, according to the report.
On Wednesday, a specialist confirmed that Aaronson suffered a broken nose, he told TMZ, and after the swelling goes down he’ll need more treatment.
