With the NBA regular season in the rearview mirror, we are going to shift our focus to baseball.

However, the Phillies are a much more aggressive team at the plate than the Guardians.
While Cleveland lacks power, they do as good of a job as any team of getting the ball in play, working the count, and drawing walks.
In fact, seven players in their projected lineup have a strikeout rate of 17% or less against right-handed pitching since the start of the 2022 season.
When it comes to German, he’s middle-of-the-road in terms of his strikeout rate (21%) and swinging strike rate (12%).

Kyle Gibson more than 5.0 strikeouts
This might sound like a negative, but one of the biggest strengths of Gibson as a starter is his ability to eat up innings.
When he gets the start, his team can count on him to pitch five, six, or seven innings, even if he gives up a few runs early.
He doesn’t have overwhelming stuff, but he still has a strikeout rate of 20% and a swinging strike rate of 11% since the start of the 2022 season.
The main reason I like him to rack up more than five strikeouts tonight is a matchup against the Athletics.
He could have the platoon advantage in this matchup (five righties are projected to start for Oakland), and four of the projected starters have a strikeout rate of at least 26% against right-handed pitching.
Jose Suarez more than 4.5 strikeouts
The Nationals will be a team that we can pick on all season regarding pitchers and their different projections on PrizePicks.
A recent series in Coors Field has inflated their run total count. On paper, this should be one of the worst offenses in baseball.
Their projected lineup for tonight’s game has seven batters with a strikeout rate of at least 20% against left-handed pitching.
On top of that, this is a team that doesn’t draw many walks.
They swing at pitches early and often, which should help Suarez pitch deep into this game.
He owns a 22% strikeout rate since the start of the 2022 season and has always pitched well at home in the pitcher-friendly Angel Stadium.

Wade Miley less than 15.5 pitching outs
It’s impressive that Miley is still in the league and starting, but the advanced metrics have hinted at regression each of the last few years.
Since the start of last season, there’s nearly a full two-run difference between his SIERA (4.53) and his ERA (2.73).
He didn’t give up a single run in his first start of the season, but the Brewers only let him throw 79 pitches.
Milwaukee will be quick to pull him if he struggles tonight, and he’s pitching on the road against the Diamondbacks, who have an underrated offense against left-handed pitching.
Ketel Marte, Christian Walker, and Evan Longoria all have terrific numbers against southpaws. I’m expecting five or fewer innings pitched for Miley tonight.
