Five players poised to win at the PGA Championship this week:

Rickie Fowler

Fowler, whose world ranking got as high as No. 4 before he’d tumbled in recent years, is on his way back.

He’s made 11 consecutive cuts, is ranked 18th in ball striking and seventh in approach accuracy and has five consecutive top-20 finishes.

He was expected to win his first major years ago.

Maybe this time he does it when it’s least expected.

Jon Rahm

It’s impossible to overlook the No. 1 player in the world who’s coming off his Masters victory and has won four times already this year.

Scottie Scheffler

Like Rahm, Scheffler gives himself a chance to win almost every week and his consistency is crazy good.

He’s won twice this year and is coming of a tie for fifth at last week’s Byron Nelson.

Wyndham Clark

He’s quietly had the season of his life, having just won the Wells Fargo two weeks ago.

He enters the week having made the cut in 16 consecutive events and has finished in the top six in four of his last six events.

He’s strong off the tee and is ranked 20th in strokes gained approach shots.

Brooks Koepka

We saw how he came alive at last month’s Masters, finishing tied for second at Augusta despite not having played well this season on the LIV Tour. Koepka is a classic big-game hunter.

The PGA, which he’s already won, is big game and so is mighty Oak Hill.
