Princess Carlene of Monaco is reportedly “living in Switzerland” — and only seeing her husband, Prince Albert, “by appointment,” according to international outlets.

While the former Olympian, 45, spent her summer on a yacht with Albert, 65, and their 8-year-old twins, Jacques and Gabriella, she allegedly has yet to return to their palace as sources allege that the pair are just a “ceremonial couple,” according to French outlet Voici.

However, another anonymous insider told German newspaper Bild the pair are “good partners” and “take turns taking care of the children.”

The recent rumors follow speculations of their separation earlier this year, which a palace spokesperson denied and called “totally unfounded.”

Meanwhile, the embattled royals have upheld their united front, despite eagle-eyed bystanders spotting Charlene sans wedding ring in March.

Albert was asked in an interview what his proudest achievement was throughout his reign, answering, “You mean aside from my wife and my children? Because they are.”

He also defended his marriage in 2021 amid rumors of his infidelity and Charlene’s months-long stint in South Africa where she reportedly “almost died” due to sinus problems.

Recent rumors allege that Charlene has not been living with Albert, despite her summer vacations on his yacht with her family. Despite international tabloids previously alleging that Albert paid Charlene more than $12 million to stay with him following her mystery ailment, palace insiders have adamantly denied such claims.

Insiders previously claimed to Page Six that she had undergone multiple surgeries and lost an extreme amount of weight.

Upon her return, she was reportedly “overwhelmed,” according to Albert, and was checked into a treatment facility outside of Monaco for an undisclosed illness.

“I’m probably going to say this several times, but this has nothing to do with our relationship. I want to make that very clear,” Albert told People at the time. “These are not problems within our relationship; not with the relationship between a husband and wife. It’s of a different nature.”

The palace’s response was met with criticism from anonymous insiders, who argued Carlene’s illness was “downplayed” and was instead “portrayed as having some kind of mental or emotional issue.”

“Of course she has a generous prenup, but Albert doesn’t have to pay her to stay,” they told Page Six.
