MINNEAPOLIS — Quentin Grimes wound up missing only two games due to a sprained left wrist.

Grimes was back in the starting lineup Monday night against the Timberwolves after watching wins over the Wizards and Hornets.

He wasn’t at his best, missing all six of his field-goal attempts in a 117-100 loss at Target Center.

Grimes did have two assists and two steals, but was a team-worst minus-18.

He was injured in Atlanta last Wednesday in the beginning of the fourth quarter, when he contested a drive and appeared to jam his hand on the body of Bogdan Bogdanovic.

Donte DiVincenzo started in place of Grimes in the previous two games.

On Saturday, the new addition scored 25 points and hit seven 3-pointers in a win over the Hornets.

But on Monday DiVincenzo also struggled, scoring seven points on 2-for-8 shooting, adding five assists.

Jalen Brunson was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week after leading the Knicks to a 3-1 record with averages of 28.5 points and 6.5 assists.

Brunson scored 25 points on Monday and hit three 3-pointers.

He’s now hit 19 over his last four games on 44 attempts.

Last year, Brunson attempted a career-high 4.7 3-point attempts per game and he matched it by hitting 41.6 percent of them, a personal high.

Those numbers have increased even more this season, up to 6.8 and 47.7.

“When we got him, we wanted that growth to continue,” coach Tom Thibodeau said. “When you look at the jump that he made last year, that was a big part of it. Just continue to build off of that. But the game tells you what to do.”

Evan Fournier (ankle) missed his second consecutive game.
