Heroes, zeros and the full blitz from the Giants’ Christmas day loss to the Eagles on Monday:

Hero

It was far too easy for Jalen Hurts, who enjoyed a get-right game after his worst stretch of the season.

He threw for 301 yards, a touchdown and one interception while adding 34 yards and a TD on the ground, and broke the single-season record for rushing scores by a quarterback with his 15th of the year.

His only blemish was a pick-six at the end of the third quarter.

Zero

Did Kayvon Thibodeaux think he had Christmas off?

The Giants’ edge-rusher hardly registered a stat, with just one quarterback hit. He did not have any tackles or sacks.

Unsung hero

DeVonta Smith provided problems for the Giants’ secondary, recording four catches for 79 yards and a touchdown.

A devastating route left Cor’Dale Flott in his wake before Smith hauled in his 36-yard touchdown catch-and-run.

Key stat

170 Rushing yards for the Eagles.

They added two rushing TDs, averaging 4.9 yards per carry and critically killed the game off in the fourth quarter by bullying the Giants on the ground.

Quote of the day

“It’s just a constant reminder that it’s a business. They’re always gonna try to find someone to replace you, whatever it is. But at the end of the day, it is a business, it’s your job, I respect it.”

— Tommy DeVito on being benched
