Tommy DeVito is a backup again.
The Giants are starting Tyrod Taylor over DeVito in Week 17 against the Rams, according to head coach Brian Daboll.
Taylor replaced DeVito during the Giants’ 33-25 loss to the Eagles on Christmas, and Daboll took a full day before announcing his decision.
While DeVito had his moments while leading the Giants to three straight wins, he failed to lead the team to a touchdown spanning six quarters against the Saints and Eagles.
Daboll originally chose DeVito over Taylor once the veteran was eligible to return in Week 14 against the Packers.
The Giants are eliminated from the playoffs, but will try to play spoiler at home against a Rams team occupying the sixth seed in the NFC.
