Eric Ebron is catching strays as fans wonder if Travis Kelce’s performance has been impacted by dating Taylor Swift.

A user on X tagged Ebron in a post this week asking if he had seen an attached meme featuring a picture of Ebron with the caption: “Travis Kelce ever since he started dating Taylor Swift,” implying that Kelce has played poorly.

While Ebron did make the Pro Bowl with the Colts in 2018 when he caught 13 touchdowns, he’s widely considered a bust after being taken No. 10 overall by the Lions in the 2014 NFL Draft, as he had just 2,070 yards and 11 touchdowns across four seasons in Detroit.

Critics have been coming after Kelce, one of the greatest tight ends of all time, believing he hasn’t been the same player this year while constantly being in the spotlight, thanks to his relationship with Swift.

“Leave me alone,” Ebron wrote on X with four “rolling on the floor laughing” emojis in response to the meme.

Kelce is still having a fine season, with his 968 yards second among tight ends and his five touchdowns tied for seventh at the position, but his 10.8 yards per reception is on pace to be a career-low.

The 34-year-old has gone five straight games without a touchdown and he has just one score in his last eight games, and he hasn’t eclipsed 100 yards since Oct. 22.

Last season, Kelce had 1,338 yards and a career-high 12 touchdowns; he’s had seven straight 1,000-yard seasons.

The Chiefs (9-6) as a whole have struggled lately, having lost four of six games, including a 20-14 home setback against the Raiders on Christmas.

Kelce’s frustrations got the better of him that day as he slammed his helmet down on the sideline during the second quarter, as Swift watched from an Arrowhead Stadium suite, and had to be calmed down by head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“[Andy Reid is] looking out for me, and I love him for it. I didn’t go back out there and play good,” Kelce said Wednesday on the latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast he co-hosts with his brother, Eagles center Jason Kelce.

“He wanted to see the fire in me and I reacted in a bad way. He wanted to just get the best out of me, and right now I’m just not playing my best football and I gotta f–king lock the f–k in, be more accountable for him, be more accountable for my teammates. I gotta keep my f–king cool because as a leader on this team that’s not how you switch the momentum.”

Ebron had 375 yards and three touchdowns in his second season with the Colts in 2019 before joining the Steelers.

He had 558 yards and five touchdowns in 2020 but had just 84 yards and one touchdown in eight games in 2021.

Ebron hasn’t played in the NFL since.
