UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been accused of lying about evacuating animals from Afghanistan at the height of the Kabul airlift.
The allegation came from a letter which was released at the time of the evacuation showing there was a push from an animal charity to save them alongside people.
Mr Johnson denied having any involvement with the animal evacuation – and labelled the allegations “complete nonsense” – but the letter shows he authorised the move.
The rescued animals would have taken the place of humans trying to flee the Taliban.
