Christian McCaffrey wasn’t in the mood to swap jerseys after the 49ers’ 22-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The San Francisco running back turned down the opportunity with former Stanford teammate and Minnesota defensive lineman Harrison Phillips while the two were talking on the field.

Phillips appeared to initiate the swap when he began lifting up his jersey, but stopped when McCaffrey shook his head and seemingly signaled he wasn’t interested.

However, all seemed well between the pair.

They shared another brief exchange and a hug before McCaffrey removed his helmet to pose for photos together.

Peyton and Eli Manning had a field day as the moment played out on ESPN’s “ManningCast” on “Monday Night Football” in Minneapolis.

“Phillips and McCaffrey,” Peyton said. “It’s not a fair trade.”

That’s when Eli narrated the his version of the conversation between McCaffrey and Phillips, who played together at Stanford from 2014-16.

“Phillips is like, ‘Hey, let’s exchange jerseys, let’s trade,’ and McCaffrey’s like, ‘No, no, no, no, no, no,” Eli said.

“I’m good, I’m good,” Peyton added.

The 49ers, who started the season 5-0, have now lost two in a row after also previously being upset by the Browns on Oct. 15.

McCaffrey, who was questionable to play with an oblique injury, had 15 carries for 45 yards and one rushing touchdown, and added a receiving score.

It marked McCaffrey’s 16th straight game with a touchdown — including the playoffs — an NFL record.

McCaffrey is the only player in the league with a touchdown in every game this season.

San Francisco was without All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, along with star left tackle Trent Williams.

The 49ers will look to snap their two-game losing streak when they host the Bengals on Oct. 29.
