These bombshells weren’t blond at all.
Hugh Hefner’s widow, Crystal, has revealed the very last words the Playboy magazine publisher said to her on his deathbed on Sept. 27, 2017.
According to Crystal’s brand-new book, “Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself,” the media mogul said, “I’m OK,” as he was being injected with antibiotics through an IV.
While Hugh’s death at age 91 had been initially ruled as “natural causes,” Crystal recalled her spouse’s final days as he fought an “aggressive” E. coli infection that was “highly resistant to antibiotics and difficult to treat.”
In the book, which hit shelves on Tuesday, the former playmate, 37, revealed that she was never actually “in love” with her late husband.
“At the time I thought I was on top,” she said. “I thought, ‘Wow, if I just like everything that he likes and do all the things that he wants me to do, then I’m the favorite.’ And I was, but I just lost myself in the process,” Crystal told People prior to the book’s release.
In 2010 — two years after Crystal had moved into the fabled Playboy mansion with Hugh and his cadre of women — the publisher proposed to the doe-eyed 24-year-old on Christmas Eve.
The gesture left Crystal conflicted over the idea of marriage to the millionaire.
According to her book, Crystal initially accepted the offer before breaking off the engagement just five days before their planned June 2011 wedding.
Crystal told People that she sought companionship with Dr. Phil’s son Jordan McGraw, a man she had previously dated, before ultimately returning to Hugh at the Playboy Mansion.
The “Girls Next Door” alum later reconciled with Hugh and they married on Dec. 31, 2012.
“I realized I was dealing with a really big power imbalance,” Crystal said. “It seemed like a world of success and fantasy, but everyone’s having to sleep with an 80-year-old. There’s a price. Everything has a price.”
Her book also details the very regimented lifestyle that was allegedly enforced by Hugh during her stay.
According to the model, Hugh would give each of his “girlfriends” an allowance that he handed to them in neat bills.
“Our nail polish couldn’t be anything but some neutral color, no French manicure,” Crystal added.
The former Playmate of the Month also recalled an instance when Hugh made a scathing remark about how the roots of her natural brown hair were poking through.
“So I’d have to go bleach it and it would burn my scalp and I’d have blisters,” she recounted. “But for some reason, I thought this was all normal and that’s what it meant to be seen as beautiful in Hef’s eyes.”
In July 2023, Crystal exclusively revealed to The Post the meaning behind the title of her book.
The name came to her when she recalled “a conversation with Hef and he let me know: ‘Once I go, when I’m gone, please only say good things about me.’”
“I kept that promise for the last five years. After going through a lot of therapy and healing, I realized that I needed to be honest about my time there,” she said at the time. “The book is about healing from a toxic environment.”
