Marquae Kirkendoll, a defensive back for Eastern Kentucky, has been charged with robbing a postal carrier in New Mexico, ESPN reported on Friday. The 21-year-old player has been suspended from the team.

Kirkendoll was charged on Tuesday. Rixon Lane, who is a spokesperson for Eastern Kentucky football, said Kirkendoll was suspended the next day after the program learned of his arrest.

Kirkendoll, a 6-foot, 184-pound Chicago native, transferred from New Mexico to Eastern Kentucky in January. He played in 16 games for New Mexico over two seasons.

Former UNM player Rayshawn Boyce, who was arrested in February, was also charged in the robbery. Boyce faces an additional charge of knowingly possessing a firearm after being convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence, according to the court documents.
