ESPN likely wasn’t the first and won’t be the last to get their Harbaugh brothers mixed up.
The network’s graphic team had a fairly notable blunder, labeling Baltimore coach John Harbaugh as his brother Jim Harbaugh on a graphic during Saturday’s broadcast of the Steelers’ 17-10 win over the Ravens.
John has been the Ravens coach since 2008 and Jim has led Michigan since 2015.
The Ravens made the playoffs on Sunday following the Jacksonville Jaguars loss to the Tennessee Titans as John’s brother Jim is set to coach Michigan in the CFP national championship game on Monday night.
Jim’s Wolverines defeated Alabama 27-20 on Jan. 1 in overtime as part of the College Football Playoff, and will look to win the school’s first national championship since 1997.
Some fans noticed the blunder on air and tweeted about it live.
The Ravens lost but remain the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs, giving them home-field advantage up until the Super Bowl if they were to make it that far.
Getting the No. 1 seed also gives the Ravens a first-round bye before returning to action in two weeks, allowing John to attend Michigan’s game against Washington on Monday, according to ESPN.
Jim previously coached in the NFL, leading the 49ers from 2011-14, and leading San Francisco to the Super Bowl in the 2012 season where they lost to John’s Ravens.
