The Health Minister has launched a vicious spray against Anthony Albanese, slamming the opposition leader as ‘unworthy’ of running for Prime Minister.

Health Minister Greg Hunt has launched a vicious spray against Anthony Albanese, labelling the opposition leader as reckless and “unworthy” of running for Prime Minister.

On Thursday, Mr Albanese called for Australia to “learn some lessons” from other countries struggling with the Omicron variant and reduce the wait time for the booster shot from five months to four.

“One of the lessons is to reduce the time between the second dose and the booster,” he said.

But Mr Hunt slammed the Labor leader for his comments, insisting Mr Albanese was politicising ATAGIs health advice on the booster shot.

“The Labor leader is doing precisely the very thing that Josh Burns says shouldn‘t happen – that’s politicians interfering with the medical process,” he said.

“Utterly irresponsible. Utterly inappropriate. Utterly unworthy of somebody who wants to be a PM.”

Mr Hunt then twisted his knife in the Labor leader, accusing Mr Albanese of being a liar who was incapable of leading the country.

Earlier on Thursday, Mr Albanese had claimed the Morrison government was shutting down Covid-19 testing hubs.

“The Commonwealth has had a gradual withdrawal from from those (vaccination) hubs,” he said.

But the Health Minister hit back insisting the claim was blatantly untrue.

“For Mr Albanese to make a false untrue, incorrect, inaccurate statement, either without thinking, or deliberate knowing it was a lie, is the act of someone who is not fit to be Prime Minister,” Mr Hunt said.

“We have 137 Commonwealth vaccination clinics and they do a mixture of vaccinations and testing. There’s been no change in the Commonwealth testing.”

More to come.
