As Brooks Koepka chased his dream of capturing a fifth major at the PGA Championship over the weekend, his wife, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit hopeful Jena Sims, was pursuing hers too.

The 34-year-old Sims responded to a separate TikTok troll on Monday who pressed the model about her weekend whereabouts, with the mom-to-be elaborating that she split her time between New York and Florida as part of the launch week festivities for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s 2023 issue.

“Yes, me clearing out the trophy case was hilarious and fun, that’s not the actual reason I wasn’t able to watch my husband win the PGA tournament,” said Sims, referencing Sunday’s post in which she is seen dusting to make room for Koepka’s Wanamaker Trophy.

“I was actually pursuing a dream of mine. I’m a top-seven finalist in the Sports Illustrated SwimSearch, which means I’m in the running to be a Rookie for the magazine. I was watching Brooks every single chance I got, but I’m so honored to be such a part of this community and this weekend was launch weekend.”

Sims, who has long dreamed of appearing in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, then shared a variety of clips and photos of herself taking part in the festivities while mingling with fellow models.

“There were three back-to-back nights celebrating all the fantastic women that were inside of the magazine. And while I know it looks like I’m just here playing dress up with fancy outfits, this is actually so much bigger than that,” Sims said.

“It’s such an amazing community to be a part of, and this was really my first chance to meet more of the swimsuit models and get some quality time with the staff, which I did.”

Sims concluded her message with a shot at critics, stating, “Just saying that I’m here dressing up is pretty much exactly the same as telling Brooks that he only played the PGA just to drink beer out of it at the end, which he did, but it’s deeper than that.”

In the caption of her post, Sims expressed that “having my own dreams and career is why we have such a successful relationship.”

Koepka — who will celebrate his first wedding anniversary with Sims next month — told reporters at the Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York, that he connected with his wife after claiming the first major victory of his career since 2019.

“I called my wife and that’s it. That’s the only person I am interested in talking to right now,” Koepka said.

“My boys are here, just hanging with them and talking to my wife.”

Koepka, who placed second to Jon Rahm at The Masters in April, shot a 67 in Sunday’s final round with a 9-under overall.

Sunday’s win marked the third PGA Championship of Koepka’s career, and what he called “probably the most meaningful.”

“Pardon my language, but it’s all the f–king sh–t I had to go through. No one knows all the pain. There’s a lot of times where I just couldn’t even bend my knee. Yeah, it felt good. It felt really good,” the 33-year-old said.

Koepka, who has struggled in recent years with injury, is now the first member of the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour to win a major.

It has certainly been an exciting few weeks for Koepka and Sims, who announced earlier this month they are expecting their first child together, a baby boy.
