A mystery has been solved.

Miles Austin, who coaches wide receivers for the Jets, was not with the team for their loss against the Jaguars at MetLife Stadium on Thursday night.

Now, multiple reports indicated that Austin has been suspended for violating the NFL’s gambling policy.

NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reports that there was “no indication Austin bet on NFL games as a coach.” However, betting on other sports, which Austin reportedly did, is against league policy. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the suspension is for a “minimum of a year.”

Austin is appealing the suspension.

“The NFL suspended Miles Austin for wagering from a legal mobile account on table games and non-NFL professional sports,” Austin’s lawyer, Bill Deni, tweeted in a statement. “Miles did not wager on any NFL game in violation of the Gambling Policy for NFL Personnel. He has been fully cooperative with the NFL’s investigation.”

Austin joined Robert Saleh’s coaching staff on the Jets last season.

Austin had a 10-year career in the NFL as a wideout; he played from 2006-13 for the Cowboys then spent one season each on the Browns and Eagles.

This is the second recent suspension due to the league’s gambling policy.

Calvin Ridley, a wideout who has since been traded from the Falcons to the Jaguars, has been suspended this whole season for betting on games that included his own team’s contests.
