A glimpse of Johnny Depp meeting fans in New York this weekend pictures the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor looking less like himself and more reminiscent of Ozzy Osbourne.
Clean-shaven with reflective blue sunglasses and a matching baker boy hat, the 59-year-old signed autographs and took selfies with fans outside the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, on Saturday night before his concert with musician friend Jeff Beck, 78.
Depp has been on the road with Beck for multiple tour stops in the UK since around the end of his highly publicized defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
The “Edward Scissorhands” alum has been pretty MIA from the public eye, except with his bizarre landing at the MTV VMAs as a moon person.
He ditched the facial hair for that virtual appearance, too, and appeared throughout the award show to make a series of weird statements.
Now, the rock duo is embarking on their US tour.
Meanwhile, Heard has been laying low in Spain, where she is reportedly living in a luxury villa and using a pseudonym.
Depp is currently dating — but allegedly not exclusive with — Joelle Rich, who was one of the defense attorneys who represented him in his 2018 libel lawsuit against the Sun.
While spectators thought there may have been a romance brewing between Depp and fellow attorney Camille Vasquez during this spring’s trial, Rich was there, too, quietly supporting Depp in the courtroom.
Heard’s suit against Depp ended in June with the court ordering her to pay Depp $10 million in compensatory damages plus $350,000 in punitive damages for defaming him in a 2018 op-ed piece she wrote for the Washington Post.
Soon after, she sold her California home in an effort to pay off her debts. Prior to her time in Spain, Heard spent time in the Hamptons and Israel with her friends and daughter.
Heard has since asked the judge to toss the jury’s verdict. She claims that the judgment wasn’t supported by evidence.
