He’s the King of the one-liners.

King Charles III is going viral online after delivering a hilariously quick-witted response to being asked out for a beer.

“It’s something I could talk about for the rest of my life,” Daniel Walker, 36, told Jam Press of the legendary exchange.

The video was actually filmed in July, when Charles was still Prince but has amassed nearly 8.6 million views after the royal ascended the throne last week following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II.

Walker said the moment occurred after he propositioned the then-Prince Of Wales for a pint at Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony on July 28.

“I had only finished work and was walking to meet my mates for a drink, where I was minding my own business – until I suddenly saw him,” said the Birmingham native, setting the scene. “I thought, if I’m going for a pint, perhaps I’ll ask if he wants one as well.”

Charles’ royal pedigree didn’t prevent him from exchanging witticisms.

The accompanying 14-second clip, filmed by bystander Andrew Gould, shows Charles waving to the crowd when Walker suddenly blurts out: “Charles, do you want to go for a beer?”

“What?” the royal replies looking slightly confused. The e-commerce specialist then repeats his unconventional question, whereupon the Prince’s eyes twinkle and he replies “Where?”

The unscripted moment caused the crowd, including the royal, to burst into laughter, whereupon Charles says: “You’ll have to recommend somewhere.”

Walker was surprised that the Prince would reply to such an unorthodox proposal. “I think he thought he was getting heckled at first, as I was shouting his name and I’m quite tall, so the initial response was slightly rude,” the Brit recalled. “But after I repeated myself, I couldn’t believe it as I didn’t think he would respond to me.”

“It’s something I could talk about for the rest of my life,” gushed Daniel Walker, 36.

And Walker’s royal encounter reportedly didn’t end there. The fan claimed that Charles’ security detail told him to wait as the royal wanted to meet him.

“He was about to walk off, but then saw me and put his hand out before asking what I did as a job,” the digital marketing employee recounted. “He commented I was a ‘proper Brummie lad’ [British slang for someone from Birmingham] and wished me all the best.”

Walker said that the exchange made him like Charles “even more because I saw his human side.”

“People don’t see all the good things he’s done, as they’re always looking for the negative – but I’ve got a lot of respect for him,” gushed the ecstatic fan, who hopes Charles will honor his invite in the future.

“I hope he’s still up for that pint, as it’d be unbelievable,” he said. “It can be my treat as well, as a good luck on his new job.”

While it’s yet unclear whether Charles is actually a King you could have a beer with, the encounter certainly earned the monarch fans on TikTok. Many thought his retort proved that monarch formerly known as the “pampered prince” — due to his ludicrous alleged royal requests — was a man of the people.

“The future king has time for people,” fawned one digital supporter, while another exclaimed, “love seeing some humanity in him, very quick good to see.”

“He’s winning me over..” declared another newfound fan.

And this apparently wasn’t a one-off. Other commenters recalled having similarly informal exchanges with the monarch with one describing: “Fortunate enough to have met him twice and in private he’s so down to earth and funny.”

“He’s really funny! Met him when I was 17 and asked if I could marry one of his sons. He said ‘take your pick,’” one user claimed.

“He has the same sense of humor as his mum,” wrote another, referencing the late Queen’s legendary wit.

Indeed, the deceased Sovereign famously showcased incredible improv skills during her reign, including a time when Her Majesty epically trolled two US tourists who didn’t recognize her at her own castle.
