Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” has been a hit comedy for the past three seasons.

While stars Martin Short, Steve Martin and Selena Gomez surely have undeniable chemistry, the Canadian comedian wondered what his first interaction with the former Disney Channel star would be like.

Short, 73, initially believed that Gomez, 31, would be a “pop princess nightmare” on the mystery series.

“The first day we shot, I had never met Selena. Because of COVID, we’d only Zoomed,” Short told People at the “Love You Like a Love Song” crooner’s Rare Impact Fund Benefit on Wednesday evening.

He continued: “And I was driving to work and I thought, ‘I wonder what Selena could be like?’ I mean, she could be a nightmare. She could be a pop princess nightmare.”

However, the “Mulaney” star was proved wrong by Gomez’s acting chops.

He went on: “Right away — from the first second we started to the makeup room — it was, like, fabulous. Always on time, always knows her lines. So good, so talented, such a pro — it’s fabulous.”

The series just concluded its third season, and a fourth was previously announced.

The “Monte Carlo” actress dished to TheWrap in June how she was scared that she wouldn’t be able to become friends with Short and Martin, 78.

“I remember when I was leaving LA to go and shoot the first season, I was worried that I’d be a little lonely because I’d be on set and most of the time I would be with Steve and Marty, who I had only met briefly on Zoom,” she divulged. “And the moment I got on set, they made me feel included.”

She pointed out: “Eventually they kind of just took me under their wing and picked on me and made me laugh and had words of wisdom when I needed them … Some of my best friends are 70-year-olds.”

The show chronicles Charles Haden-Savage (Martin), Oliver Putnam (Short) and Mabel Mora (Gomez) as three neighbors who reside in a Big Apple apartment called the Arconia.

The trio become pals and host a true crime podcast about the murder of fellow tenants.

Season 3 also starred Paul Rudd, Meryl Streep, Ashley Park and Jesse Williams.
