Michael Kay was not having it with this caller.

The Yankees play-by-play man on YES Network was doing his hosting duties on his eponymous ESPN radio show on Wednesday when a seemingly irate caller — Mike from New Jersey — claimed the announcer does not criticize the Bronx Bombers.

Kay, working on the show from St. Petersburg, Fla. before the Yankees took on the Rays, fired back at the notion that he was uncritical of the team.

“You know what, jerkoff, you want me to hang up on you, don’t you? I’m not going to hang up on you, I’m going to let you spew your nonsense. All I do is sit here and criticize the Yankees every day. Are you hard of hearing?”

Mike, however, did not believe Kay has been hard enough on manager Aaron Boone, who’s overseen a Yankees team that has floundered in July with a 1-6 record to start the month, which has led to the Orioles gaining a three-game lead in the AL East entering Wednesday’s play.

Going back further, the Yankees entered the day 5-16 since June 15, the worst record in baseball in that time.

Kay, however, said he gives fans an insight into how the team is running, adding that he says Boone “acts in concert” with the Yankees’ front office.

“I have said over and over that they have a chance of falling out of the postseason. What do you want me to do?” Kay asked. “Tell me who is saying stuff like this.”

Kay continued to call out the fan, saying he deserved to be “exposed as a moron.”

After finally ending the call with Mike, Kay explained himself further with co-host Peter Rosenberg.

“I put myself in the crosshairs. I criticize this team to an extent that no broadcaster ever does,” Kay said. “And I’m in the unenviable position — or enviable — of having a talk show where I have to be honest, and I’m also the voice of the team. Don’t tell me I don’t criticize the team. This guy is clueless.”

Kay also joined “The Show” podcast this week to talk about the Yankees’ summer swoon with The Post’s Jon Heyman and Joel Sherman.

“It looks pretty bad,” Kay said of the Yankees who have lost seven of their last 10 games before Wednesday. “It’s funny because people on the radio show say it’s no time to panic. And I don’t like to use the word ‘panic,’ but I will tell you it’s a legitimate concern.”
