Mick Jagger is celebrating his son Deveraux’s 7th birthday in some very rare family photos. The rocker’s girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, shared a collage of the couple in honor of their little one’s big day on Friday.
“December 8th !!!!!!! Happy Birthday sweet, energetic, silly, smart, wild and beautiful Devi! I can’t believe you’re 7 !!!” the 36-year-old gushed via Instagram.
“We love you more than anything! ❤️You truly are my sunshine ☀️,” she added.
In the photos, the Rolling Stones frontman, 80, looks relaxed and happy as he poses for selfies. In one snapshot, the trio are sitting with a beautiful country background as the sun sets. Another pic appears to be a throwback and shows the proud parents holding up Deveraux as he touches his famous dad’s chin.
In October, the musician opened up about parenting his youngest son.
“You get a bit out of practice — it’s not like riding a bike,” he told The Guardian at the time. “The more children you have, the more laissez-faire you get about them, to be honest.”
“And it depends on the child. They have their own personalities and you can mold them to a certain extent, but you see their likes and dislikes and encourage them do things they gravitate towards. It’s fun to have children, at any age. But if you’re working, and always away, you don’t get to enjoy it as much.”
When Deveraux was born, Jagger wasn’t working so much.”
“I was able to spend more time. And then we had the lockdown — he’s only 6, and two of those years I did almost nothing [with the band],” he explained.
Jagger has since released the band’s latest album, Hackney Diamonds, and will hitting the road once more. From April through July 2024, the 1989 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will play stadiums and festivals all over North America as part of ‘The Stones Tour “24 Hackney Diamonds” to promote their new music.
Jagger also shares four children with ex-wife Jerry Hall, whom he was married to from 1990 to 1997: daughters Elizabeth, 39, and Georgia May, 31, and sons James, 38, and Gabriel, 25.
He and model Luciana Morad Gimenez welcomed son Lucas, 24, in 1999, and his youngest child, son son Deveraux, 6, with girlfriend Melanie Hamrick, arrived in 2016.
In September, he raised eyebrows when he hinted that he won’t be leaving his $500 million fortune with his children.
“The children don’t need $500 million to live well. Come on,” he told the Wall Street Journal. “You maybe do some good in the world.”
