The NYPD’s persecution of a vocal Trump Supporting Police Officer carried on in an internal Disciplinary Hearing this past Tuesday.

We are covering the case of Police Officer Sal Greco as it transpires in NYC. Greco is currently being tried for the crime of associating with Roger Stone.

Greco, a 14 year veteran NYPD officer, is at risk of losing his job as an NYPD police officer and as well as his pension. According to an NYPD spokesperson, police officers are not allowed to associate with convicted felons.

It does not seem to faze the NYPD that Roger Stone was pardoned by President Trump in 2020 for all 7 of his felony charges.

Sergeant Jeremy Orenstein of NYPD took the stand on Wednesday to continue his testimony against Greco, and was cross-examined by Greco’s attorney, PBA Attorney Stuart London.

“This is the worst example of a violation of the First Amendment in this type of trial,” said London. “It is all because it is connected to Trump. If this was a connection to Hillary Clinton or John Kerry I don’t think there would be any of this scrutiny.”

London grilled Orenstein about a questionable subpoena that was used to obtain Greco’s private cell phone records from Verizon Wireless, which he called “unfair and illegal”.

According to London, the NYPD Internal Affairs Investigators misrepresented evidence to imply that Greco was involved with narcotics simply because he was seen in photographs with Kristin Davis, formerly known as the Manhattan Madam. Davis was convicted in 2014 for distribution drugs. She is a friend of Roger Stone.

In London’s words:

“To get an administrative subpoena for cell phone records you need to show criminality. So they bootstrapped on narcotics based on Kristin Davis’ eight year old conviction, and I think that’s unfair and makes it an illegal subpoena.”

“Kristin is a brilliant woman who paid her debt to society and who has remade her life,” Stone has said of his friend.

Because Greco was seen in photos with Stone and Davis, Stuart says the NYPD misrepresented evidence by saying Greco was actually involved with narcotics merely because he was associated by some degrees to Kristin Davis because he was seen in photographs with her and Stone. According to London, this was the only was the NYPD would be able to get the necessary subpoena approved to get Greco’s private cell phone records from Verizon Wireless.

According to London, he believes the reason the NYPD are going after Greco so hard is because they were under the impression they had a slam dunk case against a police officer who they had hoped was involved in January 6th. When they realized they had wasted incredible police resources and were barking up the wrong tree, they switched gears and decided to persecute Greco anyway for “unreported employment” and “associating with a felon.”

According to Attorney Stuart London:

“Mere presence and association is really all they have. He is in pictures on Jan 5th and 6th in a suit and tie. He was at Roger’s sentencing on 2/20 in a suit and tie. He is not part of the Oath Keepers. He is in pictures with them because they are there- sometimes to offer protection and security for Roger Stone. That has nothing to do with Sal. It is truly a “Guilt by Association” case. In America, with the First Amendment, this really shouldn’t happen. Mere association is not a crime. This was an anonymous allegation they got- I think they thought he was in the Capitol on January 6th, that was the main impetus for this case being opened for them to go to the lengths they went- license plate readers on him going down to Washington DC, cell phone records subpoenaed, checking all the computers to see if there was any computer misuse, surveillance. They put a ton of time and effort into this and the two allegations they originally had which was narcotics and him being part of the January 6th riot were both unfounded.”

“After an incredible waste of time and resources on the behalf of the NYPD to find evidence that Officer Sal Greco was part of the January 6th protest, this is the best they can do,” said Tina Ryan of Citizens Against Political Persecution. After unconstitutionally violating Officer Greco’s privacy, all they can come up with is ‘Guilt by Association’. We cannot accept this in America.”

Incredibly, a New York Daily News article was also introduced into “evidence” against Greco at the trial by Internal Affairs.

“Everyone knows The New York Daily News has become an unreliable fake news source, no better than a toilet paper tabloid,” said Tina Ryan of Citizens Against Political Persecution. “How on earth is fake news article evidence?”

“The Daily News article is from a series of smear pieces The Daily News has published on Greco,” continued Ryan. “For some nefarious reason they have taken a special interest in this case.”

Sources close to the matter believe that Sergeant Jeremy Orenstein of Internal Affairs is the person who leaked this story to The Daily News so they publish/corroborate with his narrative and assist in finding Greco “guilty in court of public opinion”, influencing the outcome of his trial.

“Dirty unethical tricks,” said Ryan.

“Greco is hanging out with people that some people don’t like at all- I get that,” said London. “But that is why this is America. Mere association is not enough. Show me that he is being paid to be part of security. Show me that he has a contract. Show me some corroborative evidence that proves what you are trying to prove. And I don’t think they have anything other than speculation, innuendo and conjecture.”

“Many times officers are accused of ‘criminal association’ with innocent explanations,” continued London. “Sometimes they grew up in the neighborhood with guys. Sometimes they are friendly with guys and they don’t know they have criminal histories. Internal Affairs never looks for termination or loss of pension in these cases. Generally it is more of a ‘slap on the wrist penalty’ or loss of vacation days, something like that. This is unheard of in the NYPD.”

“Obviously there are no rules when it comes to persecuting conservative and Trump Supporters,” said Ryan of Citizens Against Political Persecution. These people play dirty. We need to continue to speak out against this aggressive political persecution of our peers.”
