A “pissed off” Paige VanZant fumed Tuesday that she “did not pull from” her upcoming Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship match against Charisa Sigala, which was abruptly moved this week from Saturday to mid-October.
In a message posted on her Instagram page, VanZant — who was slated to face Sigala in London as part of the BKFC 27 event — expressed that the recent series of events “is out of [her] control.”
“I did not pull from my fight!!!!” VanZant began. “I was pulled! I am pissed off and heartbroken! I wored [sic] my f–king ass off to be pulled a week before I am supposed to compete!!!!!”
VanZant, 28, will now face Sigala in Denver on Oct. 15, the promotion announced Tuesday. Sigala, who boasts a 1-2-1 record with Bare Knuckle, addressed the sudden shift in a series of Instagram Stories.
“More fuel to the [fire] to get this win! I was more than ready to get it done on Saturday,” Sigala wrote in one post of the postponement.
“New date. Same opponent,” the 38-year-old fighter added in a follow-up post. “I was ready to go this weekend. Colorado in October will be 🔥🔥🔥🔥.”
VanZant joined Bare Knuckle in 2020 and was defeated by Britain Hart and Rachael Ostovich, respectively, in her first two outings. She is also a part of All Elite Wrestling, with whom she signed in March.
Beyond the ring, VanZant also runs an exclusive content site, PaigeFanZant.com, where she shares sultry pics with subscribers.
