The newest member of Serena Williams’ and Alexis Ohanian’s family has arrived.
The tennis legend, 41, announced Tuesday that she and her husband welcomed their second child together, a baby girl named Adira River, sharing the exciting news in a TikTok video.
“Welcome my beautiful angel,” Williams wrote in the caption, loosely quoting lyrics from Bazzi’s song “Beautiful,” which was playing in the background of the video.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2017, were seen sitting at a table together before they were joined by their firstborn daughter, 5-year-old Olympia, who cuddled up to Williams in the clip.
That’s when Williams left the table for a brief moment and returned with the couple’s new bundle of joy.
The family was all smiles while gazing at the newborn, who received a kiss from her big sister.
Williams revealed her second pregnancy in May when she debuted her baby bump at the Met Gala in New York City with Ohanian, 40, by her side.
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us,” Williams wrote on Instagram at the time, including photos of the couple on the red carpet.
The 23-time Grand Slam winner also shared her daughter’s reaction to the news in a video titled “Olympia’s Surprise” later that month.
“Are you kidding me?” Olympia asked her parents. “Oh my God, I’m so excited.”
Williams and Ohanian welcomed Olympia in September 2017, two months before they tied the knot in New Orleans on Nov. 16. of that year.
Williams previously opened up about how she “almost died” after giving birth to Olympia.
In an opinion piece on CNN.com in 2018, Williams explained that her daughter was born by emergency C-section after her heart rate dropped dramatically during contractions.
After the surgery, Williams shared that she had “six days of uncertainty,” which began with a pulmonary embolism, a condition in which one or more arteries in the lungs become blocked by a blood clot.
Williams discussed the possibility of expanding her family in a cover story for Vogue last year.
“We recently got some information from my doctor that put my mind at ease and made me feel that whenever we’re ready, we can add to our family,” she said at the time.
