Home team in CAPS:

Sunday

Buccaneers (-6) over STEELERS

Not interested in arguing with anyone who might be interested in teasing the Tom Brady Bucs in a pronounced favorite role at this juncture. If Steelers aren’t rebuilding, they’re sure acting like it.

GIANTS (+5) over Ravens

Baltimore has gotten off to some alert starts, but this highly regarded outfit still can’t be trusted to maintain first-half intensity. Giants continue to be underrated by the broad league fandom, thus, prefer ’dog.

Jets (+7) over PACKERS

Maintain view that the Jets appear to be developing additional cohesion on a weekly basis. This piques our interest, given we have been less than impressed by the Pack’s apparent underperformance of late. Aaron Rodgers might need more help.

BENGALS (-2) over Saints

Can readily understand any veteran’s reluctance to lay points, given the circumstances, in what looms a very close call. Relish Cincy’s recent big-game experience.

Vikings (-3) over DOLPHINS

Don’t want to get too involved here, with developing QB Skylar Thompson on call here for Miami. Vikings haven’t covered in a month. Keep close tabs on the injury lists as kickoff approaches.

FALCONS (+3) over 49ers

Atlanta remains perfect against each prevailing point spread thus far. So far, so good — though the Niners have also exceeded weekly expectations, and field the superior roster.

Jaguars (+7) over COLTS

None too eager to lay tangible points with either of these up-and-down, developing sides, which propels us toward the plus. Indianapolis is off an isolated win, but we’re wary regarding a modest team that is favored.

PATRIOTS (+3) over Browns

Eager to take second look at mature Pats outfit, given their exceptional experience. Don’t think Browns are quite what they’re cracked up to be. It’s difficult to fault the experience of Belichick and Co.

Panthers (+9) over RAMS

With Carolina coach Matt Ruhle now the “first head coach fired,” looking to take the big points with the visitors, though we wouldn’t evaluate this as anything resembling a cinch. Close call!

SEAHAWKS (+3) over Cardinals

The ’Hawks aren’t the classiest contingent working this year’s schedule, but they’ve managed to generate some surprises against what many thought was superior competition. Don’t think the Cards will run off and hide.

CHIEFS (+3) over Bills

Two of the league’s offensive powerhouses clash here, Expect Chiefs will prevail, but reluctant to lay any significant number against a side as potent as Buffalo is, now.

EAGLES (-6) over Cowboys

The public has had a great time riding Philly since the summer. So far, so good, for Joe Sixpack. Not looking to get in way of Eagles’ momentum at this juncture.

Monday

Broncos (+3) over CHARGERS

Given frequently erratic performances by the Bolts, especially in endgames, compelled to take long look at this ’dog, considering their head start. No cinch, either way.
