A mother has detailed her grief after losing her 14-year-old daughter to a drug driver, revealing how her phone’s location sparked a desperate search.

A grieving mum said her world was shattered after her “beautiful” daughter was killed by a suspected drug driver as she was making her way to a New Year’s Eve party.

The Sun reported, Olivia Kolek, 14, was struck by a car while crossing a road shortly after her mum had wished her a happy New Year when she dropped by to see her at work.

The schoolgirl’s heartbroken mum Izabela Maziakowska told today how single child Olivia’s death came just six days after the family had enjoyed a perfect Christmas.

Tearful Izabela said: “She was a lovely girl, always smiling, and I will miss everything about her.
“We had Christmas at home together, it was perfect – it was our last Christmas, I can’t believe it.

“I am absolutely heartbroken. She was my whole world. I cannot imagine life without her anymore.

“I don’t know how I am going to get up and get on with my life. It is broken forever.”

Post Office assistant Izabela, 41, paid a moving tribute to her daughter after close friends had tried to comfort and console her and her husband Lukasz Kolek, 40.

The Polish couple had spent the festive season with their daughter at their home – which the teen helped decorate and where she had baked Christmas cookies.

Izabela, speaking exclusively to The Sun Online from her lounge, wept: “I have to speak as if she is still here, not was here.

“It is heartbreaking, my husband is devastated and my parents in Poland, Olivia’s grandparents, are so so sad, they don’t feel their best. We are trying to support each other.

“Our Alsatian dog is pining for her. He can’t eat or drink. We can’t eat or sleep, our kind friend and neighbour has cooked a meal for us but we can’t eat.

“Nobody can help us, we just have to live our lives in pain.“

Looking at photos of her daughter which line her walls, she sobbed: “Why is the world so cruel? My daughter didn’t deserve this, not did we.“

As Izabela shared her unbearable grief, she pointed to the huge tree in their room, saying: “Olivia helped decorate that. We had a real tree. She loved Christmas.”

And to a plate of homemade biscuits on a plate on the table, she said: “She made those Christmas cookies and decorated them.

“I took a picture of her while she baking them. I will treasure then now.”

‘MY LIFE IS BROKEN FOREVER’

Olivia, who attended Ormiston Academy, was horrifically killed by a grey Mercedes near Rowley Regis train station in Sandwell, West Midlands, just before 5.30pm yesterday.

Paramedics rushed to the scene on Station Road but the teen was pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver, a 39-year-old man, stopped and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving while under the influence of drugs.

He remains in police custody while officers investigate.

Izabela told of her daughter’s fateful night out to celebrate the New Year.

She explained: “She came into the Post Office where I was working to wish me a Happy New Year, and I gave her some money and told how to enjoy herself and have fun.

“That was the last time I saw her, that was her last ever new year, I can’t believe I’ll never see her again.

“She went off on foot, she was going to the station to catch a train. She was going to a house party with friends.”

Izabela continued: “Before they knew she was dead, some of her friends had come round to the house to give us presents for New Year – some flowers and wine.

“I tried to ring my daughter to thank her for her friends’ gesture but I couldn‘t get through.

“Somebody checked her location and her phone showed she was near the station.

“Someone else heard on social media that there had been an accident and an ambulance had been called.”

She added: “Olivia had been crossing the road on a pedestrian crossing. I’m not sure if she had pressed the light.

TRAGIC DEATH

“I think she was talking on her phone to a friend because one of her friends later said they had heard a big bang and for someone to call an ambulance.”

In a frantic and desperate attempt to find their daughter, Olivia’s dad had gone out to look with her with two of her friends.

Two other girl pals had stayed with her worried mum at home.

Izabela said: “My husband couldn’t find the last location of her phone, then he saw a police scene and there was a tent.

“Inside that tent was a body, he didn’t know it was our daughter and was thinking who is in that tent.

“He waited an hour, he wasn’t allowed in, and then he found out it was Olivia. She was dead. He saw her body. she was all covered in blood.”

Izabela wept: “I hope she didn’t suffer, I hope she went quickly. I can’t bear to think of her in pain.”
