The Texas Southern Tigers are in search of their first win of the season, but have provided plenty of scares as they look to bust through on Monday in Gainesville against Florida.
The Gators’ 3-point shooting defense is 15th in the country with opponents making 25.5 percent of their 3s, but Texas Southern is getting just 18.3 percent of their points from made 3-pointers, which is 354th out of 358 Division I schools.
The Tigers have done a good job of getting second chances to score with rebounding 35.5 percent of their missed shots, which ranks 18th among Division I teams.
Florida has had issues taking care of the ball, ranking 156th in the country in turnovers committed on a per possession basis.
Texas Southern has found itself as an underdog six times this season and has been able to cover the point spread in five of those games and will do so again on Monday.
