A 21-year-old has confessed to carrying out the deadly mass shooting at a US Independence Day parade near Chicago.
However, police say they’re yet to confirm a motive behind the attack – which left seven people dead and more than 30 others injured.
It has also been revealed the 21-year-old, Robert E. Crimo III, was considering a second mass shooting in Madison.
“He did see a celebration that was occurring in Madison, and he seriously contemplated using the firearm he had in his vehicle to commit another shooting,” Lake Country Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli said.
A judge ruled the man would be held without bond, and the state’s attorney is charging him with seven counts of first-degree murder.
